Ly Son, one of important frontier islands of the country, is located in Quang Ngai province, 15 nautical miles (28km) from the mainland. The waterway is the only route to this island district.
In recent years, with sea and island tourism developing strongly, Ly Son island has welcomed thousands of visitors and various ships transporting necessities, creating a bustling atmosphere at the local seaport from early morning until evening.

These days, offices, all roads, and residential areas in Hoa Binh province are decorated with flags, flowers, banners, hoardings, and bright slogans to welcome National Day on September 2.
