Every year, on the 26th day of the 10th lunar month, people in the Muong Trac and Muong Ram areas, Lac Thinh commune, Yen Thuy district, celebrate the "De” rice (fermented rice) festival.

The festival is a unique cultural identity of the Muong people in the commune, showing their respect to gods and those who helped the Muong people. On the occasion, Muong people pray for all things to develop smoothly and a prosperous life.

To prepare for the festival, from the 20th day of the 10th lunar month, local households prepare to make fermented rice. Rice for making the "De” rice is white sticky and violet glutinous planted by their families. The rice will be fermented for five days. On the 26th day of the 10th lunar month, the rice will be put on a tray for worshiping ancestors.

It has become a custom, "De” rice Festival starts from 3 am on the 26th lunar October.




The "De" rice festival in 2023 is held at the commune scale for three days, attracting tourists in the province and neighbouring ones.




Within the framework of the festival, sports and cultural activities take place to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere.
