Also at the event, a crew of the Lao Air Force performed a demonstration flight in a repaired helicopter.

The repaired aircraft were ordered by the Lao army in 1997.

At the ceremony, the two sides discussed the purchase of new helicopters and further cooperation in the area of service support for the old aircraft.

The Lao Air Force has more than 20 civil and military helicopters produced by Russian Helicopters. In addition to Mi-8/17 type helicopters, the country operates medium utility Ka-32T helicopters.
