Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the international media centre for the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Da Nang. Addressing
the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh hailed
the joint efforts of Da Nang and relevant ministries and agencies in
completing the project on schedule.
The week
is an important event attracting special attention from domestic and, regional
and international media, he said, adding the fact that about 2,600 Vietnamese
and foreign reporters registered to cover the event.
Apart
from serving reporters' activities, the centre provides information and
introduces and promotes socio-economic development and achievements of Doi
Moi (reform), external policies, land and people of Vietnam, Minh
said.
The media
centre, which covers 1.3ha, will provide working space for nearly 3,000
journalists during the APEC meeting from November 6-11.
The
centre operates from 7:00 to 22:00 every day, and runs to 24:00 on the two
summit days.
