(HBO) - In the crop of 2017, the Center of Plant Seedling, Livestock and Aquaculture cooperated with Vietnam Seedlings joint Stock Company to implement the demonstration model of rice seed of Kim Cuong 111 with the scale of 5 hectares in Ha Bi commune, Kim Boi district. This is considered to be a high-yield rice seed, locally-appropriate and is being able to be replicated in the following crops.

In the crop of 2017, Ha Bi Commune, Kim Boi, implemented the model of the rice seed of Kim Cuong 111 for high productivity and economic efficiency.

The seed of Kim Cuong 111 has many biophysical characteristics equivalent to the control seed of Khang Dan 18. In addition, Kim Cuong 111 has high uniformity, short growing time, suitable for seasonal calendar arrangement such as late spring, early summer. The growing time is 108 days, the stem is strong grown, the branches are strong breeding, the leaves are stable ... The rice seed of Kim Cuong 111 has higher number of branches / cluster and number of seeds / branch than Khang Dan 18; the branches are big and long, the percentage of good – quality seeds on branch is higher than the control varieties; the production is stable at the production period in the crop.

Through the indicators to monitor the model of rice production in Kim Cuong 111 crops in 2017 in Ha Bi commune showed that: the rice seed of Kim Cuong 111 has concentrated branches with good resistance to external conditions. , is well resistant to some major pests such as: bacillus, stripe dryness, brown backed aphids... It is a pure rice seedling of high productivity, high quality, adaptability and suitability for farming conditions in localities. The average yield of rice seed of Kim Cuong 111 in the crop reaches from 55 to 61 quintals / hectare, higher than the control variety of Khang Dan 18 from 7 to 12 quintals per hectare. Results of economic evaluation show that, on the same unit area with the same investment regimen and care, 1 hectare cultivated rice seed of Kim Cuong 111 for a net interest of 16.6 million dongs/ hectare, Khang Dan 18 is 8.3 million dongs / hectare. The income and profit were increased higher mainly due to higher yield and quality, higher value of Kim Cuong 111 than those of Khang Dan 18.

Since the success of the model in Ha Bi, Vietnam Seedlings joint Stock Company based on the results of the trial production in other localities, if the results are similar, Kim Cuong 111 rice seed will be officially recognized and put out for mass production.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Director of the Center for Plant Seedling and Livestock and Aquaculture said: According to information from Hoa Binh Agricultural Materials Service joint Stock Company and Hung Nguyen Agricultural Supplies Enterprise (in Yen Thuy District), in 2017, two above companies imported from Vietnam Seedlings joint Stock Company to provide 8.080 kg of rice seed of Kim Cuong 111 for trial production in Hoa Binh, equivalent to over 200 hectare. According to reports of some communes and agricultural materials branches in some districts of Kim Boi, Lac Son, Yen Thuy, it is evaluated to be high productive, suitable seed with local conditions. When the seed of Kim Cuong 111 is officially recognized, the provincial DARD and the district DARD should consider adding the seed of Kim Cuong 111 into a purely commercial rice seedling for mass production.
