(HBO) – The provincial Farmers' Association built a trade association and cooperative model for raising chickens in My Hoa commune of Kim Boi district from April to October 2021.
The model has proven effective, generating good profits and contributing to promoting large-scale concentrated and sustainable production, creating more jobs and increasing incomes for local farmers.

The model has 10 member households who are members of the trade association of Ba Giang hamlet in My Hoa commune.
In July, the provincial Farmers' Association organized a training course on husbandry technique and disease prevention for households participating in the model and others that need support on husbandry.
After the training programme, the provincial Farmers' Association coordinated with contractors to hand over 4,100 1-day-old Lac Thuy chickens and mixed feed to the households. The member households pledged to prepare stables, breeding stock and feed, veterinary medicine and electricity to ensure the model’s scale.
Mr. Bui Van Tien – a member of the model said after participating in the training course, he applied knowledge and techniques provided in the course in practice.
"The provincial Farmers' Association provided my family with more than 400 chickens and animal feed. After three months, the chickens grow to an average weight of 2 kg per head. Currently, my family is still participating in the model.” Tien said.
According to the project’s management board, the model has helped participating households realize the importance of using chicken varieties with the origin and quality suitable for the locality. The application of science and technology helps local farmers reduce costs and human resources for raising livestock.
The model’s member households have coordinated with each other to find markets for their products. They signed with units inside and outside the province to sell meat chickens with an average price of 90 - 100,000 VND per kg.
The model helps households in My Hoa commune and those in other communes improve their knowledge and techniques in chain production, and contributed to forming concentrated commodity production areas.
It also helps its members approach and apply synchronously biosafety husbandry measures, and methods for managing livestock waste and the environment.
Vice Chairman of the provincial Farmers' Association Bui Duc Bien said the implementation of economic development models and the establishment of trade associations have contributed to promoting the role played by farmers' association at all levels in developing collective economic models, thus forming value chain-oriented production mindset, expanding production scale, promoting the application of science and technology and improving the productivity, quality and value of products.
In the coming time, the provincial Farmers' Association will coordinate with relevant departments, sectors and businesses to organize vocational training programmes and support local households in applying application of science and technology in producing, preserving, processing and selling products, he said./.

The products such as Muong village’s pork sausage, salt-cured chicken, and salt-cured pork hocks have gradually carved out a place in the market and they are on the path to obtaining the OCOP certification.
In the past, the phrase "bumper harvest, rock-bottom prices" was a familiar refrain for Vietnamese farmers engaged in fragmented, small-scale agriculture. But today, a new spirit is emerging across rural areas of Hoa Binh province - one of collaboration, organisation, and collective economic models that provide a stable foundation for production.
Maintaining growing area codes and packing facility codes in accordance with regulations is a mandatory requirement for agricultural products to be eligible for export. Recently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hoa Binh province has intensified technical supervision of designated farming areas and packing facilities to safeguard the "green passport" that enables its products to access international markets.
