(HBO) - In recent years, agricultural products have become a strategic commodity, contributing importantly to Hoa Binh province’s economic development. Local products have been shipped to many foreign countries, including such demanding markets as the US, Japan, the Republic of Korea and the European Union. In order to continue expanding the export markets, the control and improvement of product quality and design is an essential and long-term solution.

Bamboo shoots of Kim Boi joint Stock Company (Lac
Thuy) are semi-processed and packed in a closed line, helping ensure food
hygiene and safety.
Over the past time, departments, agencies, districts and Hoa
Binh city have carried out a lot of measures, with focus on promoting safe
production, forming commodity production areas, supporting the application of
good agricultural practices, stepping up the granting and monitoring of
planting area codes and packing facility codes. Attention have also been paid
to connecting semi-processing and processing enterprises with concentrated
production areas, and promote agricultural and forestry products at home and
abroad.
In addition, the province has issued documents on mechanisms
and policies to support producers, businesses and cooperatives to promote
agricultural production, improve product quality, connect and expand
consumption markets.
In recent times, more and more local agricultural products
with increasingly improved production processes have met strict requirements of
export markets.
Nguyen Huy Nhuan, Director of the provincial Department of
Agriculture and Rural Development, said in recent shipments, thanks to information
about exported products on the media, prices have remained stable.
However, in the long term, relevant departments, sectors and
units need to encourage and orient locals and production facilities to be more
aware of organising the production of goods in accordance with market demand
and ensure production processes follow VietGAP standards, and safe production
to improve the competitiveness of agricultural products.
The agricultural sector will continue to coordinate with
relevant sectors and units to concertedly implement many solutions, with focus
on reviewing, supplementing and implementing policies to support the granting
of planting area codes, aquaculture area codes, and packing facility codes;
intensifying technical solutions for intensive farming to reduce costs;
stepping up cooperation and investment attraction activities; and encouraging
enterprises to invest in agriculture and rural areas.

The lives of the ethnic minority farmers in Tan Lac district have gradually improved thanks to the new directions in agricultural production. This is a testament to the collective strength fostered through the professional associations and groups implemented by various levels of the district’s Farmers’ Union.
With the motto the "product quality comes first,” after nearly one year of establishment and operation, Muong village’s Clean Food Agricultural and Commercial Cooperative, located in Cau Hamlet, Hung Son Commune (Kim Boi district), has launched reputable, high-quality agricultural products to the market that are well-received by consumers. The products such as Muong village’s pork sausage, salt-cured chicken, and salt-cured pork hocks have gradually carved out a place in the market and they are on the path to obtaining the OCOP certification.
In the past, the phrase "bumper harvest, rock-bottom prices" was a familiar refrain for Vietnamese farmers engaged in fragmented, small-scale agriculture. But today, a new spirit is emerging across rural areas of Hoa Binh province - one of collaboration, organisation, and collective economic models that provide a stable foundation for production.
Maintaining growing area codes and packing facility codes in accordance with regulations is a mandatory requirement for agricultural products to be eligible for export. Recently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hoa Binh province has intensified technical supervision of designated farming areas and packing facilities to safeguard the "green passport" that enables its products to access international markets.
