The Industrial Promotion and Development Consultancy Centre under the Department of Industry and Trade of Hoa Binh province has carried out an array of practical and effective programmes, helping local enterprises and rural industrial establishments to improve their competitive edge while making contributions to the province’s industrialisation and modernisation process.
Leaders from the Department of Industry and Trade and the Industrial
Promotion and Development Consultancy Centre conduct the acceptance of the
national industrial promotion project in Luong Son district.
As much as 4.43 billion VND (181,900 USD) was
earmarked for nine industrial development projects in the province in
2023.
Besides carrying out the projects, helping rural
industrial establishments better their competitive capacity towards export, the
centre has worked to introduce local products to consumers through various
fairs, exhibitions and conferences.
Particularly, the bamboo shoot of Kim Boi JSC
became the first product recognised as a national typical rural industrial
goods, which is expected to create a knock-on effect, and encourage other rural
industrial establishments to capitalise on available materials and workers as
well as advanced technologies to produce competitive products, thus expanding
the markets.
During the 2022-2023 period, more than 19.1
billion VND was splashed out to support 18 industrial projects with advanced
technologies in production and communications work on industrial promotion
activities.
The industrial promotion work played an
important role in the development of local garment and textile, mechanics, and
wood and bamboo and rattan processing in 2022 and 2023. The Industrial
Promotion and Development Consultancy Centre joined hands with the Industrial
Promotion and Development Centre 1 under the Agency for Regional Industry and
Trade to carry out various industrial promotion activities to help businesses
and cooperatives to invest in new machines and equipment, and use
state-of-the-art technologies to reduce environmental pollution during
production.
The efforts paid off as they helped improve labour
productivity, reduce production costs, generate jobs for local workers and
fine-tune product quality to meet the market demand.
According to Deputy Director of the provincial
Department of Industry and Trade Duong Quoc Thang, over the past time, the department
has directed its affiliated units to roll out industrial promotion projects,
and keep a close watch on the progress of the projects.
There is an increasing number of rural
industrial establishments, helping create stable jobs for local people while
contributing to the province’s industrial production, and budget
collection.
In the coming time, the department will continue
working to support local firms in modernising their production lines, train
skilled workers, promote economic restructuring in rural areas and in the
province as a whole, among others, he added.
According to data from the Hoa Binh Provincial Party Committee, the industrial production index for the first six months of 2025 is estimated to have increased by 20% compared to the same period last year. This marks the highest year-on-year growth rate for this period since 2020.
In the first six months of 2025, Hoa Binh province’s export turnover was estimated at 1.145 billion USD, marking an 18.11% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Import turnover was estimated at $ 804 million, a 17.15% increase, which helped the province maintain a positive trade balance.
The lives of the ethnic minority farmers in Tan Lac district have gradually improved thanks to the new directions in agricultural production. This is a testament to the collective strength fostered through the professional associations and groups implemented by various levels of the district’s Farmers’ Union.
With the motto the "product quality comes first,” after nearly one year of establishment and operation, Muong village’s Clean Food Agricultural and Commercial Cooperative, located in Cau Hamlet, Hung Son Commune (Kim Boi district), has launched reputable, high-quality agricultural products to the market that are well-received by consumers. The products such as Muong village’s pork sausage, salt-cured chicken, and salt-cured pork hocks have gradually carved out a place in the market and they are on the path to obtaining the OCOP certification.
In the past, the phrase "bumper harvest, rock-bottom prices" was a familiar refrain for Vietnamese farmers engaged in fragmented, small-scale agriculture. But today, a new spirit is emerging across rural areas of Hoa Binh province - one of collaboration, organisation, and collective economic models that provide a stable foundation for production.
Maintaining growing area codes and packing facility codes in accordance with regulations is a mandatory requirement for agricultural products to be eligible for export. Recently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hoa Binh province has intensified technical supervision of designated farming areas and packing facilities to safeguard the "green passport" that enables its products to access international markets.
