With the Mid-Autumn Festival nearly a month away, various kinds of mooncakes from popular brands like Kinh Do, Huu Nghi, and Hai Ha have been put on sale at the local shopping malls and business establishments.

High-end boxes of mooncakes are being sold at Hoang Son Plaza in Dong
Tien ward, Hoa Binh city.
Kinh Do has launched many lines of diet and
vegetarian mooncakes filled with a rich and nutty flavour, their prices ranging
from 45,000 VND (1.81 USD) to 410,000 VND. Meanwhile, Huu Nghi is selling its products at
58,000-96,000 VND each. At Winmart supermarket chain, handmade cake is
sold for 55,000 VND a piece.
Bui Thi Dung, owner of Phuong Nam shop in Dong
Tien ward, Hoa Binh city, said she has sold products of popular brands like
Kinh Do and Huu Nghi, most of which were sold well last season.
Consumers have been preferring handmade cakes in
recent years as it is easy to make order while the cakes’ sweetness could be
adjusted in accordance with buyers’ taste.
Besides, many mooncake sellers have offered
healthy choices this festive season to lure customers who are wary about
calorie intake. However, consumers need to stay prudent to choose prestigious
products since many producers do not know the origin of the ingredients.
Director of the provincial Department of Market
Management Nguyen Ba Thuc said the department has joined hands with competent
sides to keep close tabs on the market, tighten inspections to fight
origin-related frauds, and show a strong hand against any violations.
He added that the communications work has been
enhanced to raise public awareness of legal regulations, and asked individuals
and businesses to sign commitment against the sale of counterfeit, low-quality,
and smuggled goods, as well as those without clear origins.

The lives of the ethnic minority farmers in Tan Lac district have gradually improved thanks to the new directions in agricultural production. This is a testament to the collective strength fostered through the professional associations and groups implemented by various levels of the district’s Farmers’ Union.
With the motto the "product quality comes first,” after nearly one year of establishment and operation, Muong village’s Clean Food Agricultural and Commercial Cooperative, located in Cau Hamlet, Hung Son Commune (Kim Boi district), has launched reputable, high-quality agricultural products to the market that are well-received by consumers. The products such as Muong village’s pork sausage, salt-cured chicken, and salt-cured pork hocks have gradually carved out a place in the market and they are on the path to obtaining the OCOP certification.
In the past, the phrase "bumper harvest, rock-bottom prices" was a familiar refrain for Vietnamese farmers engaged in fragmented, small-scale agriculture. But today, a new spirit is emerging across rural areas of Hoa Binh province - one of collaboration, organisation, and collective economic models that provide a stable foundation for production.
Maintaining growing area codes and packing facility codes in accordance with regulations is a mandatory requirement for agricultural products to be eligible for export. Recently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Hoa Binh province has intensified technical supervision of designated farming areas and packing facilities to safeguard the "green passport" that enables its products to access international markets.
