The Northern Industry and Trade Fair - Hoa Binh 2024 - will take place at the Hoa Binh provincial Exhibition and Convention Centre from October 14-20. The organising committee of the event held a meeting on September 26 to finalise preparation for the fair. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and head of the fair organising board Quach Tat Liem chaired the meeting.

The fair held under the theme "Hoa Binh integrates and develops with the whole country", is expected to have 250 booths featuring the province’s socio-economic achievements, products of enterprises in and outside the province, handicraft products, agricultural products, and products recognised by the One Commune-One Product (OCOP) programme.

The event will include a series of activities including a ceremony to announce selected typical rural products at the provincial level in 2024; the launch of a handbook on rules of origin for some agricultural, forestry and fishery products of Vietnam in accordance with the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

To prepare for the fair, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade sent invitations to the Departments of Industry and Trade and relevant agencies in 28 provinces and cities in the northern region as well as People's Committees of districts and cities in the province. So far, 74 units from 17 provinces and cities have registered to participate.

Concluding the meeting, Liem requested members of the organising committee to proactively coordinate with each other, and continue to call on registrations to the fair.

 

The official also emphasised the need to control product quality, origins and ensure food safety, security and order, and environmental sanitation during the fair.
