With a total investment of nearly 10 trillion VND (407 million USD) and many important items, the project is considered the biggest of its kind in Hoa Binh province. The expressway is expected to meet transportation needs by connecting key economic and political centres with northwestern provinces, as well as economic zones, national tourist areas, and industrial parks. Notably, it will lay the groundwork for the formation of the Hoa Binh - Son La - Dien Bien Expressway.
