On May 4 (the seventh day of the fourth lunar month), the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter of Hoa Binh province held a ceremony to mark the Day of Vesak 2025 (Buddhist Calendar 2569) at Hoa Binh Phat Quang Pagoda. Bui Thi Minh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council, presents congratulatory flowers on behalf of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
The event features traditional rituals, including
chanting prayers, to celebrate the Buddha’s birth.
In her speech, Bui Thi Minh, Standing Deputy Secretary of
the provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the provincial People’s
Council, praised the Hoa Binh VBS chapter's contributions to the great national
solidarity, patriotic emulation movements, and social campaigns launched by the
Party, State, and Fatherland Front.
She expressed hope that the local VBS chapter will continue
promoting patriotism, harmony, and the humanistic values of Buddhism while
encouraging monks, nuns, and followers to accompany the nation, comply with
Party and State policies, and lead a good religious and secular life, thereby
contributing to the development of Hoa Binh.
In recent years, the VBS chapter in Hoa Binh has exerted
significant efforts to support social welfare, charity work, gratitude
programmes, and the promotion of cultural and economic development in the
province. Buddhist activities have played an important role in strengthening
the national solidarity bloc and developing Hoa Binh into a prosperous and
civilised province.
The emulation movement "Hoa Binh joining hands to build new-style rural areas” has been widely spreading, becoming a driving force that motivates the localities to renew rural landscapes and improve the material and spiritual lives of the residents. In this movement, the people play a central role-both as the main implementers and direct beneficiaries of its outcomes.
