The Vietnamese community in Macau (China) held a meeting to celebrate Vietnam’s National Day on September 2, with the participation of Vietnamese Consul General in Hong Kong and Macau (China) Tran Thanh Huan, officials of Vietnamese representative agencies in Hong Kong and local authorities.

Addressing the event, Huan reviewed Vietnam’s major
achievements in socio-economic development as well as foreign relations and
international integration over the past 73 years.
He underscored that the Vietnam-China relations have been
reinforced and developed in recent years, with important progress in various
fields. China has become the largest trade partner of Vietnam, while Vietnam is
the biggest trade partner of China among ASEAN countries and the eighth largest
in the world, Huan noted.
The diplomat lauded the efforts and contributions of the
Vietnamese community in Macau to the country’s national construction, reminding
them to continue promoting the traditional culture of Vietnam as well as mutual
support, and joining hands to make their homeland more prosperous.
Meanwhile, head of the Mutual Support Fellow-Countrymen
Association in Macau Tran Thi Thu said that the meeting was a chance for
Overseas Vietnamese in Macau to remind themselves of the glorious tradition of
the nation and the pride of the homeland as well as their responsibility to the
motherland.
Also on September 2, a badminton tournament was held in
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as part of the activities to celebrate the 73rd
National Day, drawing a large number of Vietnamese people living and working in
the country.
The annual event aimed to strengthen exchange and solidarity
among the Vietnamese community in the country.
Players from the Vietnamese Embassy won the gold medal in the men’s duo
category, while winners of the women’s duo were representatives from the
Vietnamese community in Kuala Lumpur.

The model of intergenerational self-help club (ISC) has been expanded in Mai Chau district over recent times, contributing to sharing and motivating the disadvantaged people, especially the elderly, to improve their lives.
Following President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings that emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, the trade union at all levels in Hoa Binh has effectively implemented patriotism emulation movements, especially the "effective, creative working” movement. Responding to the movement, local workers, public servants, and officials have proposed many creative and applicable ideas, helping spread the movement to all agencies, units, and businesses.
