(HBO)- The province currently has 100,914 elderly members, taking part in 1,001 associations. The members of the elderly association account for nearly 12% of the whole province's population.
Members of the intergenerational club of
Chieng hamlet, Lien Vu commune, Lac Son district are actively participating in
cultural and artistic activities.
Currently, the Association of Elderly at all
levels in the province have built a fund of "All people take care and
promote the role of the elderly people". This fund is over 3.8 billion
VND. Using the fund, The Association of all levels gave gifts, visited the sick
elderly, maintaining the activities to support the poor and difficult elderly
in the whole province. In 2018, the associations of all levels directly
coordinated with departments, branches and mass organizations to visit and give
more than 8 thousand gifts to the elderly members on holidays and Tet with a
total value of over 2.9 billion VND. They also coordinated to celebrate the longevity
wishing ceremony for more than 10 thousand elderly members with a total amount
of more than 1.9 billion VND. In particular, the Association collaborates with
the National Front, branches and groups to delete 15 temporary houses for the
elderly. The provincial elderly care fund provide expense to help 2 elderly
households in Da Bac district repair their houses.The associations at all
levels have coordinated for the health examination for more than 43 thousand
turns of elderly people in the province. In particular, there were screening
eye diseases for more than 13 thousand elderly people, eye surgery to replace
vitreous lenses for more than 2 thousand elderly people. In 2018, the whole
province established 10 intergenerational clubs to help each other. Over the
time, it shows that the model really brings a practical meaning to the elderly
members at all levels, especially the poor and lonely members without support.
Through the form of the capital support to help members develop small economies
and organize charitable activities in the community, the inter-generational
clubs have helped many poor members with the opportunity to stabilize their
lives and health care.

The Board for Women's Advancement of Hoa Binh province on November 11 officially launched the Action Month for Gender Equality, focusing on preventing and addressing gender-based violence. As part of the event, a special talk was held on the theme of sharing household work for a happy family.
