(HBO) - Ms.Tran Thi Hoa, the Chairman of the City’s Red Cross says: "From the beginning of the year, the movements and activities organized have been spreading deeply and widely, targeting the difficult subjects such as "the Tet for the poor and victims of Agent Orange”, "Each organization and individual associating with a humanitarian address”, "The Pink Spring Festival”, "The Humanitarian Month”, " The Bank of Cows” ..., which has brought positive effects, helping the disadvantaged people alleviate difficulties in life, contributing to implementing the policies of social security in the locality ”.

The Red Cross of Hoa Binh City has held the "Humanitarian Fair” program, presenting gifts to the poor people with difficult circumstances in the area.

The Red Cross has coordinated with the benevolent organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to promote the implementation of social security through the following activities: providing money, rice and basic necessities for the people in difficult circumstances, poor children and disabled people. Implementing the movement "Tet for the poor and the victims of Agent Orange, the New Year of Rat in 2020”, all levels of the Red Cross awarded 4,229 gifts worth 1.85 billion VND to the poor households, the victims of Agent Orange and the families under preferential policies. 

Implementing "The Humanitarian Month” in 2020, the Red Cross has organized 2 humanitarian fairs, helping 600 disadvantaged households with many essential gifts such as rice, necessities, clothes with the total value 537 million VND. They have collaborated with the charity clubs and philanthropists to organize the handover of 4 "Red Cross” houses with a total value of over VND 500 million. Implementing "The Bank of Cows” program, they have awarded 3 cows with the total value is 48 million dongs to the poor households in Thong Nhat. On the occassion of "The month of action for the victims of Agent Orange”, all levels of the Red Cross have given 264 gifts to the people infected with Agent Orange, totaling 62 million VND. Implementing campaign "Each organization and individual associating with a humane address”, the Red Cross and the volunteers have visited and nurtured 82 turns of addresses monthly, totaling 96 million dongs.

The humanitarian models at the grassroots have brought the effectiveness, although their value is not great, they are a source of encouragement for those in need. The model of "shared meals” at the medical facilities, hospitals with 2 meals every week, more than 6,000 sets of meal have supported the poor patients who need long-term treatment. Various activities to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemics such as cleaning, spraying disinfectants, distributing face masks, free soap, medical examination, and propaganda at the facilities have brought practical results.

Promoting the propaganda about voluntary blood donation, the Red Cross of the City has held 4 blood donations with 3,620 participants, obtaining 2,155 units of blood. From the beginning of the year, the Association has developed plans to respond to the natural disasters before the rainy season with a view to minimizing the damage, the total value of the activities has reached 4.3 billion dongs.

The activities of humanitarian and charity carried out by the Red Cross of the city and its facilities have shown the concern of the society, the organizations and individuals who have the heart to the vulnerable, the poor and those who are in difficult situations, arousing the spirit of solidarity and mutual affection in the community, implementing the social security policies in the area.
