(HBO) – Despite being a disadvantaged mountainous province, Hoa Binh has successfully made use of the unity power to achieve the twin goals of keeping COVID-19 at bay and boosting socio-economic development, in response to the special emulation campaign of the entire country uniting to win over the COVID-19 pandemic launched by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
People in Hoa Binh City deliver relief goods to
the headquarters of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee for delivery to
pandemic-hit Ho Chi Minh City.
Hoa Binh’s people have together responded to the
provincial Fatherland Front Committee’s call for donations to aid the country’s
COVID-19 fight. Many people have made financial donations while other
contributed in the form of services. Local doctors and nurses have volunteered
to work in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, the two coronavirus hotspots, to
assist their colleagues in the fight against coronavirus, or help with pandemic
prevention work in Hanoi.
Hoa Binh was one of the first localities in the
country delivering over 300 tonnes of goods supplies to HCM City, which has
been hit the hardest by the pandemic.
With its unity, the high commitment of the
provincial political system, and the effective role of each commune and
residents in the battle against the virus, the province has been able to
fulfill the twin goals and protect its "green” areas.
However, the COVID-19 situation in the country
remains complex with infections likely to rise again due to a large number of
people returning from pandemic-hit areas and many lowering their guards against
the virus. Some even spread fake and distorted information on social networks,
causing bad effects on the pandemic fight.
Hoa Binh has determined that all its officials
and residents must stay on high alert and work together in the COVID-19 fight.
The province has urged its people to follow the "5K” principles, get COVID-19
vaccine, and heighten their sense of responsibility when using social networks.
It has also called on local residents to
contribute ideas on measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and accelerate
production to respond to the province’s movement campaigning people to stay
united and join hands with the country to defeat the pandemic.
The people in Hoa Binh province are aware of the need to build and preserve the cultural traditions and unique customs of their communities, especially those related to ethnic identities and family values which serve as foundation for a vibrant, tradition-rich Hoa Binh, enriching community life. In recent years, the province’s Party Committee, authorities, and residents have paid heed to building and developing family values and fostering human standards in the new era.
The festival of great national solidarity and culture in 2024 was held at the communal house of Da Bac district on November 5. Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Toan and leaders of departments and sectors attended the event.
The Labor Federation of Da Bac district has focused on protecting workers' rights while actively participating in patriotic emulation movements to enhance the creativity and productivity of the local workforces across agencies, organisations and enterprises.
In recent years, the Women's Union of Yen Thuy district has actively contributed to the implementation of the National Target Program on building new the rural areas. The Union's activities not only help raise awareness of environmental protection for the members, the women, and the people but they also contribute to improving the appearance of rural areas and improving the quality of life.
The model of intergenerational self-help club (ISC) has been expanded in Mai Chau district over recent times, contributing to sharing and motivating the disadvantaged people, especially the elderly, to improve their lives.
Following President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings that emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, the trade union at all levels in Hoa Binh has effectively implemented patriotism emulation movements, especially the "effective, creative working” movement. Responding to the movement, local workers, public servants, and officials have proposed many creative and applicable ideas, helping spread the movement to all agencies, units, and businesses.
