(HBO) – Improving the operational efficiency of the Women’s Union, promoting the solidarity and creativity of women and mobilising the engagement of the whole society in strengthening the comprehensive development of women are the major goals set by the 17th provincial congress of the Women’s Union of Hoa Binh, according to President of the Union Hoang Thi Duyen.

According to Duyen, specific targets set in the resolution include popularising
policies related to social and health insurance to 95 percent ofthe
members of the union, helping 755 member households get rid of poverty,
supporting 20 women-owned enterprises to enhance capacity, and assisting 755
women with disability. The union aims to attract 1,600 new members each year,
she added.
Regarding plans to implement the resolution, Duyen said that the union will
focus on three major tasks, two breakthrough measures and four groups of solutions.
It will renovate its communications methods, while strengthening the
application of information technology during its operation, fostering
coordination with local departments, sectors and agencies, expanding its
cooperation with domestic and foreign partners, and looking for more resources
for its operations.
Meanwhile, it will also strengthen connections with its members through online
and offline activities, she said.
To welcome the upcoming 13th National Women Congress, slated for March 9-11 in
Hanoi, the Women Union at all levels in Hoa Binh has conducted various
activities, including those to respond to the "Ao Dai (traditional long dress)
Week from March 1-8 and the campaign to plant trees and flowers along local
roads. They have also launched movements to support women in border area and
sponsor children orphaned by the COVID-19, natural disasters and children from
poor families./.
