(HBO) - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hoa Binh province and Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Bui Van Khanh, who is also head of the steering committee of the locality for implementing social and health insurance policies, attended a programme held virtually by the Vietnam Social Security (VSS) on November 23 to give free social insurance books and health insurance cards to disadvantaged people nationwide. The event aims to call for contributions from employees of the social security sector and mobilise resources from individuals, organisations and businesses across the country to support disadvantaged people with no social and health insurance, in efforts to spread the humanity and increase poor people's access to social insurance and health insurance policies.

The movement is expected to spread the humanity spirit and social and health insurance policies of the government in the community, and respond to the movement "The whole nation joins hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind” launched by the Prime Minister, thus contributing to realising the goal of universal social and health insurance coverage. 

At the ceremony, 630 social insurance books and 1,260 health insurance cards worth over 3 billion VND in total have been handed over to disadvantaged people. 

A total of 30 people in Cao Phong and Da Bac and Tan Lac districts, and Hoa Binh city were presented with social insurance books and health insurance cards at the programme. 

The Vietnam Social Security is striving to give 10,000 social insurance books and 120,000 health insurance cards to people with difficult circumstances nationwide./.
