(HBO) – The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Hoa Binh has organised the 2023 English Olympiad for students in the province. The activity was part of the fifth National English Olympiad for students, which was launched in April 2023 by Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee (HCMCYU) and Ames International English System.

 

The organising board hands over certificates to outstanding contestants.

The provincial final round was held online under the simplified International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test format. Accordingly, seventeen candidates took part in the exam on the Central Youth Union's exam system portal.

At the end of the contest, the organising board handed over a certificate and award to Nguyen Ngoc Mai, a twelfth grader at Ethnic Boarding High School in Hoa Binh province, who got the highest score and won first prize. She will represent the province to participate in the national round in October.

The organising board also granted certificates to five candidates who secured second and third prizes in the final round.

The contest is a meaningful playground, which offers anopportunity for children to study and practice English skills, creating excitement in learning English and meeting the demand of globalisation and international integration.
