The whole of Hoa Binh province currently has 73/129 communes meeting new rural standards. In which, 28 communes meet advanced new rural standards and 1 commune meets model new rural standards.

3 district were recognized the new rural standards: Hoa Binh city, Luong Son district, Lac Thuy district.

However, in the coming time, the construction of new rural areas, advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas will face difficulties, because the majority of communes striving to reach the finish line in the 2021 - 2025 period are in extremely difficult communes; difficulties in attracting development investment, low per capita income, difficulty mobilizing socialization resources.
