The piggy bank campaign has been carried out widely in Cao Phong district for years, showing efficacy in promoting education in the locality.
The
money saved through the piggy bank movement has been used to promote education
in Tay Phong commune.
The movement has attracted enthusiastic response from the local residents and
yielded positive results. As much as 10 billion VND (over 400,900 USD) has been
saved through the piggy banks, creating opportunities for more than 1,500
impoverished students and those with difficult circumstances to attend school.
According to Vice Chairman of the district’s association for promoting
education Nguyen Chi Chung, there are 88 local education promotion chapters in
hamlets and residential areas, 42 education promotion boards of clans, and 14
others in competent units.
He said the piggy bank movement has drawn the participation of students,
teachers and parents in all ten communes and Cao Phong town, helping
underprivileged students overcome challenges to continue their study.
