The General Hospital of Hoa Binh province is applying modern technologies and advanced medical techniques to enhance the quality of medical examination and treatment, aiming to deliver more accurate diagnoses and improved care for patients.

Arthroscopic surgery to treat shoulder dislocation - one of the difficult techniques - is routinely performed at the Hoa Binh General Hospital.

Vuong Thi Huong, a resident of Thu Phong commune in Cao Phong district, expressed her pleasant surprise during a recent visit to the hospital.

"The hospital now boasts modern infrastructure, a clean and green environment, and advanced medical equipment, making healthcare more accessible and reducing the need for referrals to higher-level facilities," she said, noting the substantial changes since her last visit.

Many patients are now choosing the provincial General Hospital for their medical needs, reporting high levels of satisfaction with the care and services provided. The hospital has undergone extensive infrastructure improvements, including the addition of several new facilities such as three five-storey treatment buildings, an outpatient clinic building, a high-tech medical building, a stroke treatment centre, a six-storey oncology building, and a nine-storey building for internal medicine and infection control.

Modern medical equipment is upgraded annually to enhance diagnostic precision and early disease detection. Recent acquisitions include automated blood analyzers, 64- and 32-slice CT scanners, 1.5T MRI machines, 4D colour ultrasound devices, ventilators, bone densitometers, laparoscopic surgery systems, and SPECT/CT scanners for cancer diagnosis.

Hospital Director Nguyen Hoang Dieu highlighted the transformative impact of these modern facilities and the improved expertise of the hospital’s staff. The hospital now performs approximately 1,037 specialised procedures that were previously only available at central-level hospitals, which has helped reduce patient referrals to central hospitals, easing the burden on these facilities and lowering costs for both patients and society.

He said that in the time to come, the hospital is committed to sustainable development, combining state funding, self-financing, and social investment to invest in cutting-edge technologies and human resource development, thus help diversify healthcare services and deliver high-quality medical experiences.

With a goal to achieve first-tier hospital status under a plan to 2030 with a vision to 2035, the hospital is focused on developing specialised medical disciplines. Other key priorities include fostering a culture of compassionate patient care, and maintaining a green, clean, and friendly environment.

Through these efforts, the General Hospital of Hoa Binh aims to build trust and satisfaction among patients and staff, establishing itself as a leading healthcare institution serving the community.
