Lac Son district has made significant progress in promoting gender equality and women's advancement in areas such as politics, economy, labor, health care, and education.
The People's Committee
has issued plans to implement a national strategy on gender equality and a
programme to prevent gender-based violence.
Women’s participation in government and leadership roles has
increased, with women holding key positions across various levels. The district
also focuses on reducing school dropout rates, child marriage, and poverty,
while promoting cultural and economic development.
Efforts to close the gender gap in employment have been
successful, with 50% of female workers now earning wages and a decrease in the
number of women working in agriculture. Several women in the district hold
leadership positions in cooperatives and businesses.
To combat gender-based violence, the district has
intensified legal education and support services for victims. Programs have
been implemented to promote women's empowerment in family and community life,
reducing gender bias and improving work-life balance for women.
In the coming time, the district aims to further increase
female leadership and ensure access to financial and support services for
women, particularly those in vulnerable households.
The National Science and Engineering Fair for secondary and high school students was held at Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City from March 19-21 by the Ministry of Education and Training.
