The 2024 Provincial Volleyball Championship is a playground for the athletes to compete.
It has become a custom, at the end of every afternoon, the people in An Thinh residential area, Man Duc town (Tan Lac) gather at the sports field of the cultural house to participate in practicing and exchanging steam volleyball. Here, the atmosphere every afternoon becomes more bustling and joyful with cheers and bustling laughter. The heat on the field is pushed up after every good and attractive play.
Having just finished a steam volleyball match, Ms. Bui Thi Nien excitedly said: "Every afternoon I go to the yard of the district’s culture house to play steam volleyball with everyone. This is an easy sport to play, no high investment required and it does not require too much technique or health, speed, and it is safe and suitable for the elderly...”.
In recent years, the movement to practice volleyball in the localities has been increasingly flourishing, attracting the participation of a large number of people of all ages. The clearest proof is that in the whole province, there are 836 sports clubs, of which, volleyball alone has nearly 220 clubs. This is also the sport with the largest number of clubs in the province. Additionally, in order to create favorable conditions for the people to practice, exchange, and compete, nearly 1,500 volleyball courts in the province are gradually invested and completed in terms of facilities and equipment.
To keep the movement alive and create a healthy playground for the athletes to compete, hundreds of volleyball tournaments from grassroots to the provincial levels, sectors, unions and localities are organized every year. In 2024, the 15th Provincial Traditional Farmer’s Volleyball Tournament was held; the Steam Volleyball tournament for the Women's Union officials at all levels; The volleyball tournament of the block emulating state management agencies in economics and statistics... Among them, the impressive thing is that the Provincial Volleyball Championship is a traditional tournament, maintained and held annually. This year's tournament attracted nearly 150 athletes from 14 male and female volleyball teams from 10 districts and the city; Competing in two categories, male championship and female championship. During 4 days of the tournament, at Yen Thuy district’s stadium, there were always many spectators watching and cheering. Thereby, the attractiveness of the tournament has been confirmed. Thanks to the thoughtful preparation, the methodical practice, the application of reasonable tactics, and the high determination, Yen Thuy district’s female volleyball team and Kim Boi district’s female volleyball team excellently won the Championship Cup. In the male event, the home team, Yen Thuy, continued to assert its strength by retaining the Championship Cup from last season. In the female event, Kim Boi district successfully rose to win the championship. Notably, in this year's tournament, many localities have paid more attention and invested more in training, practicing, and carefully selecting the forces, aiming to improve rankings and compete for the champion cup. Thanks to that, the professional quality of the tournament has been significantly improved.
The attraction of volleyball in recent times has contributed to the strong development in both quantity and quality of the mass sports movement in the province, which is rich and diverse in many forms of practice. According to Mr. Dao Tien Cuong, the Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism: "In recent years, the Party committees and the authorities at all levels in the province have always paid special attention to developing the movement of physical training in general and volleyball in particular.
