(HBO) - At the age of 21, the mountain bike athlete Dinh Van Linh has become one of the best riders of Vietnamese bikers when there are no opponents at the race in the domestic competitions.

The mountain bike athlete Dinh Van Linh – a hope for high achievement sports of the province.

Mentioning the achievements of this athlete, it seems to be listed in a long list. His typical achievements such as four consecutive years from 2014 to 2017, Linh won 3 gold medals in many terrain bike contents in the National Sports and Physical Training Competition. For 3 consecutive years (2015-2017), he successfully defended the championship in the national mountain bike race in the content of individuals with time counting. Or at the national championship of mountain cycling and nationwide youth bicycling championship held in our province in August 2017, in the contents of Olympic field – passing and men team, the athlete Dinh Van Linh surpassed many famous cyclists of big cycling clubs and top class racers to be the first rider to reach the destination.

Born in 1996, Dinh Van Linh came to the sport of cycling with all his efforts to self- training.

In 2011, for the first time, Linh had the chance to compete and take part in the "National Championships ò Junior Mountainous Cycling" in Binh Duong Province. Although he could only get the bronze price, it  also the encouragement and promotion for him to take more efforts in training. Linh shared: The biggest motivation to mention is my family, the birthplace where I was born and grew up was extremely difficult and my family is no exception, it is the poor countryside of Ghe 2 Village, Lung Van commune (Tan Lac). In 1998, when I was 2 years old, my first incident in my life was that I was unfortunately severely burned. The health treatment cost was too high compared to the family’s affordability, my parents had to sell everything in the house to have enough money to take me to the hospital. When I came back, there was no rice for us to eat. Our family’s life was so hard so I had to live well for my family to be happy, to compensate for the shortcomings. The second motivation is my selfish characteristic(laughing), so while practicing I can not bear seeing someone better than me, then I must try my best. Trying to be self-respecting regardless of playing any sport, I also want to confirm to everyone that I am the No. 1.

Cycling requires tough and persistent fitness, so every day regardless of rainy or sunny weather, I always spend 5 hours practicing. Dinh Vinh Linh said: Patience, persistence of training has helped me to have a good strength, enough to overcome other opponents in the big competitions. In addition, during the training, I have the spirit of learning and studying from friends, as well as accumulating experience to maximize the competence, strength and overcome my weakness.

Our province is ideally located to develop the cycling sport. But there are also many difficulties in developing this powerful sport. Training equipment can not be as the same team as Hanoi, the Army or An Giang. The policies of salaries and bonuses are low, not enough to "keep" the talented athletes. For many times, I have wanted to find a more suitable place to develop all of my abilities but there are still many things here that I cannot leave to go far away. One of these reasons is that I want to confirm the position of the provincial sport. Dinh Van Linh is very honored to become one of the athletes of the Hoa Binh Sports Club dressing the national team’s uniform to devote himself to the sport of Vietnamese
