(HBO) - In recent years, the movements of physical training and sports in Da Bac district has been interested in by authorities and sectors and has been developed sharply, in which, some sports such as marathons, crossbow shooting, tug-of-war, stick pushing are highly appreciated and there are many high achievers in provincial, regional and national competitions.

Mr. Do Viet Cuong, Director of Da Bac Culture and Sports Center said: "Although many new sports put into practice and competitions now, they have attracted a lot of participants. However, it is undeniable that ethnic sports always attract a large number of people of all ages and sexes to participate in training and competition. The annually traditional crossbow shooting – tug of war –stick pushing competition held in the early spring has become the festival of all the athletes. Particularly, on the holidays, Tet, the anniversaries, most communes organize exchanges and competitions of national ethnic sports, folk games to attract a lot of people to participate in the competition. In many communes, the movements of those sports have been developed strongly, such as: Yen Hoa, Muong Chieng, Suoi Nanh, Hien Luong, Tu Ly, Toan Son ... 

Originated from the folk games, the national sports, throughout the festivals, the base tournaments, the Culture and Sports Center of Da Bac district has selected, gathered many excellent athletes to participate in the competitions organized by the province and always got high achievements. In which, many athletes are chosen into provincial sport teams to participate in regional and national tournaments. Typically, the athlete Luong Van Qua in Tan Minh commune, for many consecutive years, has won the gold medal at the weight of 57 - 63 kg in the provincial Crossbow shooting – Tug of war –Stick pushing Competition, achieved the gold medal at the weight of 63 - 66 kg in The Ethnic Sports Competition in 2017 and many medals at regional and national tournaments. The Athlete Luong Thi Kieu, Yen Hoa commune also won the provincial gold medal at the weight of over 72 kg and the national bronze medal in 2017.

 

Being present at the Crossbow shooting – Tug of war –Stick pushing Competition to celebrate the spring of New Year 2018, you would see the exciting bustle of people here. From early morning, athlete delegations and supporters of communes and towns had gathered in the central courtyard of the district culture house to prepare for the competitions in all contents. Mr. Do Viet Cuong, Director of Da Bac District Center of Culture and Sports added: "There are nearly 300 athletes from 18 teams from communes, townships and high schools participating in the District Crossbow shooting – Tug of war –Stick pushing Competition. The athletes competed for 23 sets of medals in the contents of crossbow shooting, stick pushing and tug of war. This is the year with the largest number of delegations and athletes participating ever and the quality of the athletes is higher and more equal to each other. Through this competition, the Organizing Committee has selected more than 30 excellent athletes to set up teams for training and preparing to participate in the 6th Provincial Sports and Physical Training Competitions in 2018. Da Bac delegation will try to win more 5 to 6 gold medals in national and athletics.
