Hoa Binh delegate has 5 athletes who have
grown up from the Da Bac marathon championship and the traditional marathon
trophy of Hoa Binh Newspaper. The athletes competed in the content of 10 km men
movement and individual teens (5km). Most prominent is the athlete Dinh Thanh
Hue who already won the championship of men movement for two years (2016,
2017). However, in the 2018 season, the men's movement distance has increased
from 7 km to 10 km, so the athletes needed more preparation in training.
Competing with 35 athletes, including many athletes who have been successful in
the national track, Dinh Thanh Hue has brought into play their professional
skills, willpower and efforts to win the championship for the third time with
34 minutes 38 seconds. In the content of individual male teens, the athlete Xa
Thanh Son suddenly rose to the third place to win bronze medal (17 minutes 43
seconds). Xa Thanh Son's teammate, Ban Thuong An won the 4th prize.
If there were enough 3 athletes, the possibility of winning the men's team in
Hoa Binh would be possible, but unfortunately, in this content, our province
had only 2 athletes. After many years of winning the national championship of
marathon, this is the first time Hoa Binh province has won two medals (one
gold, one bronze).
