(HBO) - For many consecutive years, Tan Lac district has been at the top at the provincial sports competitions organized by the province. Especially, at the 6th Provincial Sports and Physical Training Competitions in 2018, Tan Lac district won the first team prize of crossbow shooting, tug of war, stick pushing with 6 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.

Referring to the sport of crossbow shooting in Tan Lac, many athletes are well - known to many people, such as Bui Thi Mui, Bui Van Din, etc, because they not only won many gold medals at provincial prizes but also won many medals at large competitions of the Region and Nation. Sharing with us, the experienced athlete of the crossbow shooting, Bui Thi Mui said: At present, crossbow shooting is being attended by a lot of young people who are enthusiastic, passionate about ethnic sports. Not only the boys but also the girls are attracted much by this subject. With us, we not only teach skills, knowledge and experience for young athletes but also expect to train the next generation of potential athletes, potential for the district’s team. Good shooters have to practice regularly, training for strong hands, smart eyes. Therefore, the athletes of crossbow shooting are required to have good mental strength, calm mentality, bright eyes and strong hands to lift the bow to focus accurately in the destination.

Crossbow shooting has become an indispensable sport in every holiday, the big festival of the locality. Every year, Tan Lac district organizes crossbow shooting competitions with the participation of 100% of communes and towns. Based on the actual needs, many crossbow shooting clubs are formed and maintained effective activities such as: Crossbow shooting clubs in some communes of Dich Giao, Tuan Lo, Quy Hau, etc. Up to now, over 90% of communes and towns have 1 - 2 crossbow shooting clubs. Those clubs have been given enthusiastic support of the culture and sports industry with professional help such as assigning experienced coaches in professional, training methods for the members of the clubs. At the same time,the district organizes training courses on crossbow shooting techniques for young athletes, thus helping the athletes have good orientation in training and competition.
