Vietnamese athlete Truong Thi Kim Tuyen won the first gold medal for the country at the 23rd Asian Taekwondo Championship in Ho Chi Minh City.

Tuyen defeated Napaporn Charanawat from Thailand 13-5 in
the women’s 46kg category.
Last year, Tuyen beat Napaporn 19-8 in the semi-finals of the World Taekwondo
Championships in the Republic of Korea, winning the first world silver medal in
Vietnamese taekwondo history.
In addition to Tuyen’s success, Pham Thi Thu Hien also brought home a bronze
medal in the women’s 57kg category.
The 23rd Asian Taekwondo Championship was held by the HCM City Department of
Culture and Sports and the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation from May 24-28.
The tourney attracted nearly 700 athletes from 50 countries and
territories.
Powerhouses such as the Republic of Korea, China’s Taiwan, Iran, China and
Thailand sent athletes to the event.

On November 10, at Hoa Binh Square, Vietnam Cycling Federation (VCF) coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hoa Binh province and Minh Viet Communications and Trading Company to Vietnam Gran Fondo Championships in 2024 - IRCtire Cup. In the morning of November 8, the Organizing Committee of Lac Thuy District’s Sports Tournament organized the 2024 District Marathon Tournament. There was the participation of 60 athletes from 10 communes and the town, competing in 4 competition events (male champion, female champion, young male, young female).
During the two days, November 7 - 8, the Provincial Women's Union organized the steam volleyball tournament for the officials of the Women's Union at all levels of Hoa Binh province in 2024. There was the attendance of Mr. Bui Tien Luc, the member of the Standing Committee, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization.
On October 31st, the Culture, Sports and Communications Center of Tan Lac district coordinated with the District’s Youth Union to organize the 2024 traditional marathon tournament of the district.
After the 2024 Traditional Marathon Tournament, Luong Son district has established a team with many high-ranking runners, focusing on fostering, training and being ready to compete at the XXXI Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup Traditional Marathon Tournament in 2024.
Taking place from October 9 to 20 in Hoa Binh City, the National Road and Mountain Bike Championships 2024 attracted hundreds of young athletes from provinces and cities across the country.
