(HBO) – In recent years, the movement of physical training and sports in Hoa Binh city has developed significantly with a wide range of sports. Particularly, football is considered as "the King of sport” and attracts people of all ages to participate in practice. Therefore, it helps to improve health, increase solidarity and select talents for fostering and participating in football tournaments of the province and area.

Some football competitions attract many
athletes and spectators in the stadium to join in and encourage.
In current, the city has 20 football clubs
which regularly practice, especially each club consists of 15 to 20 members.
Moreover, some offices, agencies, schools and residential areas establish
soccer teams for physical health training and to gather people who have a
passion for the ball. Most recently, the "Youth Open Football Tournament
in 2018" was organized from 13th to 22nd of April and continued to affirm as a useful playground, attracting a large
number of clubs and spectators who went to cheering. Hence, it continues to
encourage the development of sport in general and football in particular.
Football is also loved and interested by many
government officers in the city. Mr. Xuan Trien Pham, Permanent Deputy
Secretary of Party Committee Group of the provincial authorities, said:
"Because of the passion and interest of officers of provincial authorities in
the city, in March, the Party Committee Group of the provincial authorities
held a football competition for the group of provincial authorities in 2018
including 378 athletes coming from 52 cells and affiliates of party. This is a
sporty activity, healthy and useful cultures in a bid of improving health and
contributing to enrich the cultural and spiritual life of government officers
in the group as well as increasing the solidarity among the authorities”.
However, the football in the city is facing
some challenges and the greatest one is a lack of soccer yard. Apart from
provincial stadium, football lovers can only use artificial turf of private
investors and children take advantage of vacant land, sidewalks and yards of
cultural houses to play soccer.
In recent years, Lac Thuy district has paid increasing attention to investing in cultural and sports infrastructure. These grassroots facilities have attracted a large number of residents to participate in recreational and cultural activities, physical training, and community engagement, contributing to the development of cultural life and the local socio-economic growth.
In recent years, the mass physical training and sports (PTS) movement in Hoa Binh province has developed strongly and spread widely. Regardless of age, gender or occupation, people actively participate in physical training, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic sports atmosphere within the community.
Recently, Hoa Binh’s athletes have continued to show strong performances at national-level competitions. Alongside elite athletes, several standout performers have emerged from grassroots sports movements, underlining the province’s growing sports culture.
From April 26 to 27, at the Provincial Sports Arena, the Hoa Binh Provincial Karate Federation organized the 2025 Hoa Binh Open ASUDO Karate Championship.
While modern sports like volleyball and football continue to grow in popularity, traditional folk games and ethnic sports remain a vibrant and essential part of cultural life among the Muong community in Hoa Binh province.
A total of 85 young players from across Hoa Binh province recently participated in the provincial Youth Table Tennis Tournament. Organised by the provincial Centre for Youth Activities, the event was part of activities to celebrate the 94th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – 2025) and the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – 2025).
