(HBO) - Determining to build the physical training – sports movement as a foundation for high-achievement sports development, in the past years, the recruitment and training of athletes has always been paid attention by Luong Son district Sports Center.

Up to now, the physical training – sports
movement has really come into the social life, spreading all over the
localities, attracting crowds of people, all age groups, who often participate
in training in many different sports. The club models of physical training –
sports, playgrounds, training grounds, etc. are set up in almost all hamlets,
residential areas and in agencies and organizations with various kinds of
sports, such as football, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, badminton,
tennis, etc. Thereby, this can improve physical and mental health of the local
people, contributing to the reduction of social evils, building a healthy
lifestyle, effectively implementing the campaign of "All people are united to
build cultural life in residential areas".
Every year, in addition to the sports
competitions organized according to the plan, the Center of Culture and Sports
also coordinates with agencies and organizations in the district to organize
sports tournaments. Through these tournaments, high-achievement athletes are
selected and trained to participate in the tournament organized by the
province. Since the beginning of the year, the Culture and Sports Center has
set up delegations of playing chess, draught to participate in the tournament
and compete in athletics subjects of crossbow shooting, stick pushing and tug
of war in the Sixth Sports and Physical Training Festival of Hoa Binh Province
in 2018. The results is that they won 6 gold medals, 7 silver medals, 7 bronze
medals, won the third prize of the whole team; participating in badminton and
table tennis competitions for middle aged athletes of Hoa Binh province and won
the champion.
For Luong Son district, the sports of
volleyball, marathons, stick pushing, crossbow shooting is considered as the
strength of the district and always being held in the top three of the
province. Many prominent athletes bringing gold medals to the province are Bui
Van Sang in men stick pushing, Hoang Thi Oanh in marathon, Nguyen Dinh Dung,
Dinh Cong Tinh in crossbow shooting, etc. At present, the district has
organized successfully the 2018 Volleyball Championship and selected excellent
athletes to form two men's volleyball teams to participate in the provincial
Volleyball Championship held in Lac Son district.
In recent years, Lac Thuy district has paid increasing attention to investing in cultural and sports infrastructure. These grassroots facilities have attracted a large number of residents to participate in recreational and cultural activities, physical training, and community engagement, contributing to the development of cultural life and the local socio-economic growth.
In recent years, the mass physical training and sports (PTS) movement in Hoa Binh province has developed strongly and spread widely. Regardless of age, gender or occupation, people actively participate in physical training, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic sports atmosphere within the community.
Recently, Hoa Binh’s athletes have continued to show strong performances at national-level competitions. Alongside elite athletes, several standout performers have emerged from grassroots sports movements, underlining the province’s growing sports culture.
From April 26 to 27, at the Provincial Sports Arena, the Hoa Binh Provincial Karate Federation organized the 2025 Hoa Binh Open ASUDO Karate Championship.
While modern sports like volleyball and football continue to grow in popularity, traditional folk games and ethnic sports remain a vibrant and essential part of cultural life among the Muong community in Hoa Binh province.
A total of 85 young players from across Hoa Binh province recently participated in the provincial Youth Table Tennis Tournament. Organised by the provincial Centre for Youth Activities, the event was part of activities to celebrate the 94th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – 2025) and the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – 2025).
