Mr. Nguyen Mong Long, the Head of Sports
Management Department (Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said: The
mass sports movement is always being taken care to invest, develop uniformly
and widely, especially in sports. Ethnic minorities and traditional ethnic
sports are well-developed and have gained many achievements in regional and national
sport competitions. In particular, the traditional national sports known as the
strength of the province, such as stick pushing, tug of war, crossbow shooting
have been paid the attention and invested to get high achievements. Every year,
the province organizes nearly 1,000 sports competition events from grassroots
level up to provincial level. In addition, the cultural sector in coordination
with the departments and boards launched, organized successfully many Sports
Competition in the form of socialization. At the same time, in coordination
with the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam Sports
Federation and the related branches and localities successfully hosted 3-4
regional and nationwide championships, such as: the nationwide Cycling
Tournament of Long Distance for the Youth; National Mountain Biking
Championship; the National Youth Volleyball Club Cup, the National Volleyball
Championships of qualifying round; the National senior and middle- age swimming
competition, etc. From the beginning of this year, our province has held Chess
Championships; the 1st Hoa Binh Open Karatedo Cup for the strong
clubs of Hoa Binh province in 2018; The Competitions of crossbow shooting, tug
of war, stick pushing and marathon, etc. with the participation of nearly 1,300
athletes, 72 medals and 308 athletes were approved to be at higher level.
In order to meet the demand for training and
improving the physical training and sports movements, the mission of land
planning, investment in the constructing facilities, cultural and sport
institutions for sports and physical training activities from provincial to
local levels has been paid much attention. Many districts and cities have
planned land for sports facilities, built and used effectively, well provide
the cultural and sports activities in the locality. Up to now, the province has
11 stadiums, 34 football pitches (including 9 artificial grass football
pitches), 8 swimming pools (1 standard swimming pool), 108 volleyball courts,
14 basketball yards, 49 tennis courts, a golf course and many other sports
facilities with remarkable contribution from socialization resources.
