(HBO) – Luong Son district of Hoa Binh province has held the 25th traditional cross-country tournament in 2018.

The tournament drew 200 athletes from 24 communes, wards and schools in the district, including 93 men and 112 women. The athletes competed in four categories of men junior and men’s 5km, women junior and women’s 3km.

 Concluding the tournament, the organisation board presented four first prizes, four second prizes and 12 consolation prizes to individuals. The first prizes came to Quach Mai Thuong from Tan Thanh commune (in the category of women junior’s 3km), Hoang Minh Bao from Hop Hoa commune (men junior’s 5km), Dinh Thi Nga from Hop Hoa commune (women’s 3km), and Nguyen Van Khanh from Luong Son town (men’s 5km).

 In the team category, the first prize of the women junior event was presented to Cao Ram commune, while the second was given to Lam Son commune and third prize to Tan Vinh commune. In the women’s event, the first prize came to Nguyen Trai High School, the second prize to Hop Hoa commune and third to the Boarding School for Ethnic Minority Students.

 In the men’s category, the first prize came to Nguyen Trai High School, the second to Hop Hoa commune and the third to the Boarding School for Ethnic Minority Students.

 Alongside, the organising board also offered a prize to the youngest male athlete – Ly Van Bang from Cao Ram commune, and the youngest female athlete – Bui Thi Huong from the Boarding School for Ethnic Minority Students.

 The best coach prize came to Bui Tri Thiet from Hop Hoa commune, and the best cross-country movement prize was presented to Luong Son town. The Hoa Binh newspaper also presented two gifts to two female athletes winning the individual events.

 Through the tournament, the organising board selected best athletes to form a team to compete in the 27th Hoa Binh newspaper cross-country tournament 2018 slated for this mid-November.
