(HBO) - In 2010, table tennis first appeared in Toan Son commune (Da Bac). Since then, table tennis has become a favorite sport of all ages in the commune.

The members of the 30 April Table Tennis Club in Toan Son commune (Da Bac) are playing table tennis to improve their health.

Currently, Toan Son commune has established 2 table tennis clubs. They include the 30 April and the 22 December table tennis clubs. Those two table tennis clubs have their own large grounds with fully equipped facilities and training equipment. People in the other communes often place tables at the own culture house to practice and play table tennis.

The expenses for the table tennis clubs to operate are mainly from the source of socialization. From the love for the table tennis and realizing that there are a lot of people in the commune loving this sport but there are no places to practice and play, Mr. Nguyen Van Luan, the chairman of the 30 April Table Tennis Club has invested in building a solid collective training house on an area of nearly 200 square meter. They have bought more ping - pong tables and nets for the club members and the people in the commune to practice and play. The people have trained and learned themselves. The love and enthusiasm for table tennis of the people in Toan Son commune are increasing day by day.

Every day, from 5 p.m to 8 p.m, everyone is coming there to practice and play table tennis together. Table tennis has become a place for the amateur athletes to share and exchange experiences in practice and competition.

Mr. Do Viet Thach, the chairman of the 22 December Table Tennis Club says that now the club has 26 members with one ping - pong table. All the club members always actively practice and play table tennis to improve their health. Table tennis has made them more flexible and more skillful, helping players to react more quickly. In addition, the members have considered the 22 December table tennis club as their second home.

In order to develop table tennis, every year the Committee of Toan Son commune regularly organizes the exchange tournaments with the clubs in their own district and Mai Chau district, Hoa Binh city so that the players have the opportunities to interact, compete and share experiences. The team of Toan Son commune often takes part in the table tennis tournaments organized by Da Bac district with high achievements. There are a lot of typical athletes. Nguyen Khanh Vinh (Truc Son village) won the first prize, Nguyen Truong Giang (Truc Son) won the second prize in table tennis at the Da Bac district’s tournament in 2018.
