(HBO) - In the first 8 months of 2019, 84 athletes of the province have participated in 15 regional and national sports competitions, competing for the province's key subjects such as: Cycling, Pencak Silat, Weightlifting, Athletics, Boxing, Karate and Taekwondo and have won a total of 43 medals (including 19 gold, 10 gold and 14 bronze medals). Two athletes competing in terrain cycling have been selected to join the national bicycle team of Vietnam to compete in the terrain cycling in the 30th SEA Games in 2019 in the Philippines.

The cycling race "Back to Dien Bien Phu - 2019, the Cup of People's Army Newspaper” - Stage II through Hoa Binh province has been successfully organized.

The province has collaborated with the People's Army Newspaper to organize the cycling race "Back to Dien Bien Phu - 2019, the Cup of People's Army”-stage II through Hoa Binh province. It has successfully hosted the National Terrain Bicycle Championship for the youth and the National Terrain Bicycle Championship in 2019. It has also successfully organized the traditional long-distance running Championship of Hoa Binh Newspaper Open Cup in 2019 with the participation of more than 300 athletes from 20 sports teams of the province and 4 sports delegations from Son La, Lao Cai, Yen Bai and Lai Chau provinces. 

Participating in the 11th National Sports Competition for Ethnic Minorities, Region I in Bac Kan, the athletes of our province have won 17 medals, including 6 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze medals and got the first prize for the whole delegation. At the XIV Northwestern Cultural, Sports and Tourism Festival held in Son La, our provincial sports delegation has won 20 medals, including 5 gold, 5 silver and 10 bronze medals and it is one of the teams with the best achievements.
