(HBO) – Tan Lac district in the northern mountainous city of Hoa Binh has been organizing its 6th physical training and sport games, with the participation of more than 200 athletes.

This is a major physical training and sport games of the province and a sport festival of ethnic groups in Tan Lac district. The event also marks the 60thfounding anniversary of the district.

The games is of significance as it helps encourage people to regularly take exercise following President Ho Chi Minh’s example in order to improve health, thus better serve study and work.

During the event, the best athletes will be selected to compete at the 6thphysical training and sport games of Hoa Binh province in 2018.

 The games includes eight sports, six of which, namely swimming, badminton, tennis, archery and tug of war were organized earlier. The track and field event was held right after the opening ceremony, while the cross-country running will take place in mid-October.

 The opening ceremony featured a parade with flags and palanquins showing the participation of armed forces, agencies, units, organizations, towns and communes in the event. It was followed by a mass performance titled "Vitality of Tan Lac.”

More than 200 athletes of 15 units from towns and communes then took part in volleyball and track and field competitions./.
