(HBO) - In recent years, the movement of physical training and sports in Ngoc Luong commune (Yen Thuy) has diversely and richly been developed with many practical activities. Thereby, it has been attracting the local people to take part in health training, creating the pervasive power in the community and increasing the local people's solidarity. At the same time, it has been contributing to the successful realization of the tasks of the local socio-economic development.

The movement of volleyball practice is vigorously taking place at the yard of the People's Committee in Ngoc Luong commune (Yen Thuy).

There are 2,530 households with 8,281 people living in 18 hamlets in Ngoc Luong commune. The movement of people's physical training and sports has already been put into order, raising the awareness of each family about the importance of health training. The percentage of people who regularly practice physical training and sports accounts for over 50% of the population. In particular, the core force is the youth union members, the women, the elderly ... Depending on the age and health, each person has selected a suitable sport for themselves. According to the review, in the whole commune there have been over 20 playgrounds at the cultural houses of the hamlets and villages, meeting the people’s need for daily physical training. The commune has established and maintained the activities of 18 volleyball, soccer and nursing clubs...

In order to create a useful playground for the local people, every year the commune directs the coordination of the departments, branches, unions, villages and hamlets to organize from 3 to 4 tournaments in the early spring, on March 8, and March 26. Thereby, the typical athletes representing the commune can be selected to participate in the tournament organized by the district in the middle of April each year. Before the tournaments, the athletes are trained and fostered the tactics and physical training to ensure the professional participation. In addition, the commune has been actively cooperated with the neighbouring localities to organize exchanges and competitions to rub and learn from each other.

The commune has paid special attention to the sports of the ethnic people, and mobilized people to regularly practice them. They have been creating a useful playground on the occasions of early spring to attract people’s participation. They have also been focusing on training the source of young athletes to maintain and preserve the national cultural identity.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuy, the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngoc Luong Commune says "According to the survey, only about 20% of the hardened sports playgrounds in the commune have met the standard, the rest is mainly the ground floor. In the coming time, it is expected that the State will pay attention and provide financial support to create conditions for the commune to renovate, upgrade and buy equipment to meet the people's needs for physical sports training. They will also continue mobilizing and propagandizing the local people to actively take up and practise a variety of sports.
