(HBO) - On November 18th, at the Provincial Cultural Palace, the Provincial Gifted School for Sports Training and Competition held the 10th anniversary of the school's establishment (2010 - 2020).

Authorized, the leader from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is awarding the flag of the Provincial Party Committee – the People's Council – The Father Front to the school.

The Provincial Gifted School for Sports Training and Competition, formerly known as the Provincial Sports Gifted School, was established under Decision No. 1043/QD-UBND, dated on July 8th, 2010 by the Provincial People's Committee. In 2019, implementing Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW, dated on October 25th, 2017 of the Central Committee of Session XII, the Provincial Sports Gifted School was merged with the Center of Sports Training and Competition according to Decision No. 2928/QD-UBND, dated on December 14, 2018, renamed the Provincial Gifted School for Sports Training and Competition. After the merger, the school always received the attention from the leaders, the organization of the staff was quickly consolidated and it was stable in terms of personnel. The physical foundations and training equipment have been invested in and upgraded with the priority given to the development of high-achievement sports. Currently, the school has a total of 36 officers, teachers, and employees; Party cell has 22 party members; there are 24 members in the Youth Communist Union.

In the period of 2010 - 2020, the school has trained 964 turns of students in the gifted sports classes and 1,793 turns of players were recruited and trained to participate in 178 regional and national sports tournaments, winning a total of 596 medals (184 gold medals, 184 silver medals, 228 bronze medals). There were 47 turns of level-one athletes, 38 turns of athletes with the National grandmaster; 37 turns of athletes were summoned to the youth teams and national teams and 6 turns of athletes representing off-road sports competed at the Southeast Asia Off-Road Championship in Asia. At the 3 National Sports Congress won 20 medals. In 2014, the emulation flag awarded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is one of the five mountainous provinces with outstanding achievements. In 2018, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded the certificate of merit as it was one of the 10 mountainous provinces with the excellent achievements at the congress. At the National Ethnic Minority Sports Contest in 2015, 2017, 2019 and the Northwestern Ethnic Culture and Tourism Festival in 2013, 2016 they won the first prize for the whole delegation.

In addition, the school has also contributed to maintaining and developing mass sports movement, advising the organization of provincial sports tournaments, hosting a number of national sports tournaments and coordinating to organize the socialized sports tournaments.
