Ms. Ha Thi Lan Huong, the Director of Lac Thuy Center for Culture, Information and Sports, says: Implementing the Strategy for the development of physical training and sports up to 2020 and creating a foundation to promote the movement of sports pants, over the past year, along with advising the district to pay attention to investing in cultural and sports institutions, every year, the district’s Center for Culture, Information and Sports coordinates with the Department of Culture and Sports, other appropriate authorities and departments to set up the rules, to organize the district-level sports tournaments and to select the athletes to train and participate in provincial sports tournaments.

In 2020, in difficult conditions due to Covid-19 epidemic, the district Center for Culture, Information and Sports still closely adhered to the plan, guided the participation in the provincial sports tournaments, developed a plan to organize the district-level sports tournaments, and guide the grassroots levels to organize the tournaments to select the athletes to participate in the prizes at district and provincial levels. The district organized 5 district-level sports tournaments. They include stick pushing, crossbow shooting, tug of war, the volleyball tournaments for strong teams and for movement, the 7-person men's soccer championship, the 7-person men's soccer championship for employees within the the district’s enterprise sector. In which, the 7-person men's soccer championship within the enterprise sector held by the district collected nearly 50 million to support the victims of flood in the Central Vietnam. They coordinated to held 3 district-level sports tournaments, including Volleyball tournament between the Labor Federation – the Farmers’ Association – the Center of Culture, Information and Sports, the 7-person men's soccer championship between the Department of Culture and Sports – the Youth Communist Union – the Center of Culture, Information and Sports, the 7-person men's soccer championship between Labor Union – the Center for Land Fund Development and the Industrial Cluster – the Center for Culture, Information and Sports.

Through the sports tournaments at the grassroots levels, the district has selected and trained the athletes to participate in 7 provincial sports tournaments in 2020 and achieved the impressive achievements: They won the second prize for men's tug of war, the second prize for men's stick pushing at the class of 55 kg; 1 gold medal for the badminton women's singles, 1 silver medal for men's doubes championship in table tennis, the champion for the volleyball tournament for female employees and workers in the province in 2020 and the 7-person men's soccer tournament in 2019 ...

In order to further promote the achieved results, by 2021, the district’s Center for Culture, Information and Sports continues to instruct the sports clubs to practice regularly. It is important to manage, protect and exploit well the sports facilities, following the plan of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to select athletes to participate in sports tournaments at district and provincial levels. It is also important to create environment and conditions for the people to train their body and be healthy, connecting with the community and enriching the achievements of sports in Lac Thuy district.
