(HBO) Over the past time, the movement of physical exercise and sports among the people in Lac Luong commune (Yen Thuy) has been more and more blooming. It is full of cheers at the playgrounds and the culture house of the commune every late afternoon. Enjoying the good ball plays, the beautiful volleyball paths, people have considered the sports practice as an indispensable thing in the daily life.

At around 17 - 18:00 every day, everyone is voluntarily present at the volleyball field. The happy atmosphere and the crisp laughter of the sports time seem to dispel the fatigue after a stressful working day. The main sports chosen by the people is volleyball because a large number of people can play it at a time, creating a happier atmosphere. The young people play volleyball, small children are also infatuated with plastic balls, the physical activities has not only strengthened the health, improved the physical health, but it has also increased the people's morale.

Mr. Bui Van Tien, a social-cultural officer, says: "Over the past time, the movement of sports practice has been active in the communes, the cultural activities also take place regularly, creating a healthy entertainment environment, strengthening the solidarity, and the people's spiritual life has increasingly been enhanced. Through the training sessions, the exchange competitions between the villages and the communes and the regional competitions, people have changed their perception of physical training for the healthy entertainment and to get away from the social evils”.

Mr. Bui Van Luong from Thong Nhat hamlet says: "Every day, at 17:00, everyone from the soft volleyball team is present at the commune’s cultural house. The team consists of 10 people, mainly the elderly, the youngest is above 50 years old. Since joining playing sports, our health has improved a lot, and my back pain has also improved. At the same time, meeting and chatting every day makes me feel happy, and the love for the village and the people has been more and more stable”.

There are steam and hard volleyball teams in all ten out of the ten villages. In addition, they also play badminton, table tennis, nursing ... They regularly exchange, compete with each other. In which, 4 steam volleyball clubs of the commune including Thong Nhat, Luong Tien, Luong My, Quyet Thang have been carefully trained, and they have exchanged and competed with the neighboring communes and they often win. The traditional and ethnic sports such as crossbow shooting, stick pushing, and tug of war are also practiced to serve holidays and to compete in the districts’ tournaments. To make the sport movement in the area more frequent and exciting, the commune has selected the athletes and the squads to compete in the regional tournaments. Although they do not win many high rankings, the excellent athletes and individuals with their efforts and hard work have been selected to compete in the provincial tournaments, and to interact with the other provinces. They are Mr. Bui Van Minh (Luong My hamlet), Mr. Bui Van Thong (Luong Cao hamlet), Ms. Bui Thi Hong Nhung (Yen Tan village) stand out in hard volleyball with outstanding height and a lot of experience.

Mr. Bui Van Tien adds: "The sports movement has deeply been developing among the people, which contributes to the physical and physique development, creating the connection and solidarity in the community. For the movement to continue to develop strongly, especially among the schools and towards the young people, the commune continues campaigning, propagating, creating conditions for training, participating in competitions for those who love sports, constantly improving their fitness and the spiritual life for the local people”.
