The movement of physical training and sports has attracted th eparrticipation a large number of people in Hich 2 hamlet, Mai Hich commune (Mai Chau).
The movement of physical training sports has always been paid attention to by the Party Committee and commune authorities, and the number of participants of all ages have been increasing. The young people play sports with high intensity such as hard volleyball, badminton, the elderly play soft volleyball, nursing, and young children are also engrossed with plastic balls. Around 5pm - 6pm every day, everyone is present at the courtyard of the culture house. The joyful and juicy atmosphere of the sports hours dispels fatigue and stress after the hardworking time, and at the same time it improves the health and lifts the spirit for the people.
Currently, in the whole commune there have been 8 male volleyball teams, 9 female ones, and 7 male soccer teams. They are the core sports teams, and they regularly practice daily, exchange and compete with the neighbouring communes or on anniversaries and sports tournaments organized by the district. In addition, there also have been clubs for nutrition, badminton, soft volleyball in each hamlet, they regularly compete with other groups, creating a joyful and healthy atmosphere, attracting the participation of many people. They also regularly practice the ethnic sports to compete in district and regional sports tournaments on the occasions of major holidays, which are actively responded by everyone, making the sports movement more and more exciting.
Mr. Vi Van Ky, the official in charge of culture and sports in Mai Hich commune says: "Over the past time, the movement of physical training and sports in the commune has been active, the spiritual life of the people has been improved, creating a healty environment and strengthening the solidarity among the people. The young and promising faces have been selected to participate in regional sports tournaments, providing the forces for the provincial sports teams through the sports movements organized by the locality.”
Mr. Bui Van Tu from volleyball team of Hich 2 village says: "The hamlet's hard volleyball team consists of 15 members, and gathering at 5 pm at the neighborhood cultural house has become a daily habit of each member. My health has significantly improved with less illness and good physical strength since I started playing volleyball. Playing volleyball also provides us good opportunitues to make friends and exchange after hardwworking hours.
Currently, the system of the cultural institutions in the area has been upgraded to meet the people's needs of daily exercises. In 2020, the commune maintained the communal central stadium with a cost of over 1.4 billion VND, and the sports fields in 7 out of the 7 hamlets were repaired, there have been 2-4 volleyball courts in many hamlets, meeting the needs of sports training of the local people. The total land area for the sports activities has reached over 25,000 square meters. The number of people regularly participating in sports practice have reached 2,480/4,100 people, getting 60.5%; sports families have been 672/950 households, reaching 61%.
Over the past years, the communual sports teams have made outstanding achievements at the tournaments. In 2020, the female volleyball team won the second prize all over the district, the young male volleyball team won the third prize, the young male soccer team won the second prize, and the female badminton team won the first prize. Thereby, it has been providing many promising faces for the district to compete in the provincial tournaments. The extensive development of the movement of physical training and sports in the commune has created connections, increased solidarity in the community, and contributed to well implementing the campaign "All people do exercises following the great example of Uncle Ho”, improving the cultural and spiritual life in the community.
