(HBO) - Currently, the development of Covid-19 epidemics in the province is basically under control, and a number of sports activities are allowed to start again, but there are still limitations, for example, the sports tournaments have not been allowed yet. Due to the complicated developments of Covid-19 epidemics, many provinces and cities have organized the sports tournaments online, contributing to satisfying the people's passion for sports.

The athletes of Huy Hoang Center for Taekwondo Training (Hoa Binh City) are participating in the Online Sports Tournament in Taekwondo of Thai Nguyen in 2021.

Recently, Thai Nguyen Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized Taekwondo Tournament for the Open Clubs in Thai Nguyen Province in 2021 in the online form. The tournament has attracted more than 200 athletes from 22 clubs of 8 provinces and cities. They include Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Hoa Binh, Nam Dinh, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh. The athletes are in 4 age groups (from 11 years old and under, from 12 to 14 years old, from 15 to 17 years old, and from 18 years older). They competed in an online format via Zoom software and via the video clips in 3 contents: the standard Taegeuk Il-jang, the techniques and the counter-practice. The team of referees in various locations of the provinces would monitor live through the Zoom software provided by the Organizing Committee, and they would use the specialized software to evaluate the athletes' results at the same time. At this tournament, 14 athletes from Huy Hoang Center for Taekwondo Training participated in this tournament and they won 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 10 bronze medals.

The athletes participated in an online sports tournament for the first time, however, they were not under psychological pressure, anxiety or nervousness because they often exchanged and competed with each other. Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, the coach of Huy Hoang Taekwondo Training Center, said: "Taekwondo Championship for the open clubs in Thai Nguyen in 2021 is the first online sports tournament we have participated in. Through the tournament, the martial arts athletes have raised the awareness to practise, and it helps increase the opportunities to rub, accumulate the experience. The competition process has been evaluated publicly and transparently, which causes less disturbance to their study and daily life, it helps save the cost of eating, traveling, and the time of athletes. However, there are also some limitations, that is, the content of the confrontation cannot be performed, the network connection is not stable, causing the psychological problems affecting the competition results.”

Additionally, the young people of Candy Crew dance group (Hoa Binh City) are also participating in a dance competition in the form of an Online Battle called Hanoi Best Kid Vol 4 – Vietnam – Vietnam Breaking Online Battle. With the criterion of "Staying safe, staying at home and keeping the fire of Breaking”, the contestants filmed and submitted the contest clip to the link provided by the Organizing Committee according to the set music background. There are 2 contestants competing in the Kid category attended the tournament. Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoa, the team leader of Candy Crew said: "Participating in an online competition right in the classroom for the first time, the children are more comfortable in preparation and under the guidance and companion of the teacher, the things they are worried about are simpler. However, if they compete live on the vibrant music background with cheers, cheers, and applause from the audience, they will surely burn with all their heart”.

Due to the complicated developments of Covid-19 epidemics across the country, it can be said that this is the most appropriate option in the current context. Although there are some limitations, the meaning and effectiveness of online sports tournaments cannot be denied. This is an opportunity for the athletes to participate in competition, exchange experiences, improve their own level, keep the flame of passion. It is also the adaptation of the sport sector to the negative effects caused by Covid-19 epidemics...
