Tan Lac district sports is also known for its strength in the national sports, cross-country, swimming... This has been proven through the sports tournaments organized by the province, the district has always got many precious medals. In which, it is impossible not to mention the Provincial Championship of crossbow shooting - tug of war -stick pushing in the province in 2019 and 2020, and the district excellently defended the first place for the whole team. And in the XXVIII traditional Vietnamese marathon tournament of Hoa Binh Newspaper Cup in 2019, Tan Lac won the first prize for the whole team and in the tournament in 2020, the district won a number of team prizes. Since the beginning of 2021, Covid-19 epidemics has greatly affected many areas, and Tan Lac sports has also encountered many difficulties. This has directly affected the implementation of the district's development targets and plans for sports. However, the good news is that the district has completed and exceeded the planned targets for 2021. The district’s sports tournaments were held as planned, and they won many outstanding achievements at the provincial sports tournaments. By the end of November, 2 out of the 16 communes and township had successfully organized sports congresses at the grassroots, including a model congress in Phong Phu commune.
Currently, each commune and town has its own strong sports. The ethnic sports have been strongly developing in Nhan My, Phong Phu, Thanh Hoi communes... Swimming are in Nhan My and Phong Phu communes... In addition to marathon, tug-of-war and stick pushing are the strong sports in the upland commune of Ngo Luong. At the District’s Traditional Marathon Tournament in 2019, 2020, Ngo Luong commune continuously won the first prize for the whole team. The prominent faces are Bui Van Quyn, Bui Van Anh, Bui Thi The, Dinh Thi Tham, or the youth team with Bui Duc Thanh, Bui Van Luong, Bui Thi Thuy, Bui Thi Bon... Mr. Bui Van Quan, the socio-cultural officer of Ngo Luong says: "The commune has promoted the propaganda to raise the awareness about the role of sporrts and physical training for health, promoting and encouraging each person to choose a suitable sport for regular practice. The individuals who are passionate about sports are the important factors contributing to the widespread spread of the mass sports movement. Thereby, it has been helping recognize the promising factors to train and compete at the sports tournaments of the district and the province. The mass sports movement has attracted the participation of a large number of people, contributing to improving physical health, the cultural and spiritual life, and strengthening the solidarity, building a cultural life in residential areas as well”.
In order to promote the mass sports movement to widely develop, the district has gradually invested and upgraded the system of grassroots cultural and sports institutions in recent years. However, it still cannot meet the increasing need for health training of the People.
According to Mr. Dinh Son Tung, the Head of the District’s Department of Culture and Sports: In order to promote the achieved results, the district will continue promoting the movement "All people train their body following the great example of Uncle Ho” in the coming time. The force of guides and athletes will be trained and fostered to improve the quality and achievements at the tournaments, and building and perfecting the system of cultural and sports institutions at the grassroots will be paid attention to.
