Hoa Binh FC was established in 2021. At the National Second Division Football League in 2022, in the final match on June 8th, Hoa Binh FC won with a score of 3 - 0 against Dong Nai, which has helped Hoa Binh FC to be promoted to the National First Division Football League in the 2023 season. This is the first time in history that the Northwest football has a representative competing in the Vietnamese professional football system. During the season, the football team of Hoa Binh province scored 27 goals and conceded 7 ones.

On this occasion, the Chairman of Provincial People's Committee presented the certificates of merit to the collective of Hoa Binh FC and 2 individuals including Mr. Le Quoc Vuong, the Head Coach of Hoa Binh FC and Mr. Vuong Van Huy, the captain of Hoa Binh FC for the excellent performance, won the first prize of the National Second Division Football Championship in 2022 and was promoted to participate in the National First Division Football Championship in 2023.
