Vietnam’s Ly Hoang Nam secured his first win of the year at the Hong Kong F6 Futures tennis tournament on January 1.

Nam, No 6 seed, came from behind to beat Japanese Rio Noguchi in the singles first round after nearly two hours of play.

In the second round match he will face the winner of the match between qualifier Alberto Lim from the Philippines and Chinh Lam of the hosts.

Nam however failed in the doubles event. He was paired with Hong Kit Wong and lost 6-3, 2-6, 5-10 to Skyler Butt and Anthony Jackie Tang of the hosts.

The Hong Kong tournament runs from January 1-6 with a total prize of 15,000 USD up for grabs.
