In recent years, Hoa Binh has made significant strides in improving the quality of its mass sports movement, with investment focusing on training facilities and equipment.

A campaign, titled "All people exercise following the example
of President Ho Chi Minh", has been widely implemented in association with
initiatives to build a cultural lifestyle and new-style rural areas.
In Tan Vinh – a central commune in Luong Son district, every
hamlet now boasts a training ground, adequately meeting the daily needs of the
community.
Local resident Hoang Thi Su from Dong Chui hamlet said:
"Since our training ground was upgraded and outdoor equipment installed,
we have more options for regular exercise. Coming to the area, we enjoy chatting,
socialising, and cheering for volleyball, badminton, and shuttlecock teams,
which boosts our spirits and optimism."
According to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports
and Tourism, as of the end of 2023, Hoa Binh had over 2,800 sports facilities available
for various activities, including 92 training and competition halls, 53
swimming pools, and 2,714 outdoor training fields. Notably, the provincial
stadium has received an investment of 13.3 billion VND (541,422 USD) for upgrade
to host national and provincial sports events, while the provincial swimming
pool has been renovated with 7.2 billion VND to improve auxiliary facilities
for local competitions and public use.
According to Dao Tien Cuong, Deputy Director of the department,
with the support and direction from provincial leaders, it has issued several
guidelines on the expansion of mass sports movement for localities involved.
This included integrating sports initiatives into the local conduction of
national target programmes for new-style rural development, sustainable poverty
reduction, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous
areas.
In recent years, Lac Thuy district has paid increasing attention to investing in cultural and sports infrastructure. These grassroots facilities have attracted a large number of residents to participate in recreational and cultural activities, physical training, and community engagement, contributing to the development of cultural life and the local socio-economic growth.
In recent years, the mass physical training and sports (PTS) movement in Hoa Binh province has developed strongly and spread widely. Regardless of age, gender or occupation, people actively participate in physical training, creating a vibrant and enthusiastic sports atmosphere within the community.
Recently, Hoa Binh’s athletes have continued to show strong performances at national-level competitions. Alongside elite athletes, several standout performers have emerged from grassroots sports movements, underlining the province’s growing sports culture.
From April 26 to 27, at the Provincial Sports Arena, the Hoa Binh Provincial Karate Federation organized the 2025 Hoa Binh Open ASUDO Karate Championship.
While modern sports like volleyball and football continue to grow in popularity, traditional folk games and ethnic sports remain a vibrant and essential part of cultural life among the Muong community in Hoa Binh province.
A total of 85 young players from across Hoa Binh province recently participated in the provincial Youth Table Tennis Tournament. Organised by the provincial Centre for Youth Activities, the event was part of activities to celebrate the 94th founding anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – 2025) and the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – 2025).
