The Road 445, May Giay hamlet, Dan Ha commune
(Ky Son) is being severely slid down, a part of the road is sloping into Da
River bank.
Heavy rains in the province have caused
almost all types of natural disasters including landslides, flash floods,
floods, serious destructing the infrastructure and causing great impacts on
production and life of the local people. According to the summary from the
Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Victim Rescue, by the
end of July, the total loss due to natural disasters, floods was estimated at
1,125.9 billion VND. The infrastructure, especially traffic and irrigation was
seriously destroyed. Many roads are being deeply flooded; many roads are being
covered with soil and stones, many roads are being disconnected, traffic is
jammed. Particularly, the national highway is being slid down and damaged with
the length of about 570 meters, the length of flood is about 1,700 meters,
there are 17 landslide points causing traffic jams. The length of the
provincial road being damaged is 980 meters, the length of the roads being
submerged water is 6200 meters, the amount of soil and rocks being slid down is
210 thousand m3, dozens of works have been destroyed completely, nearly 84
landslides causes traffic jam. Many places are being cut off, flooded,
slipping; they cannot be circulated, difficult to access, threatening the lives
of people.
Due to heavy rains, many dam constructions
and canals being damaged have to be repaired. The reservoirs are in the state
of being discharged to spill. Particularly, the Lake 3/2 in Chieng Chau
Commune, Mai Chau District turns out to have water absorbed into lines.
In terms of production, there are 3,550
hectares of rice, hundreds of hectares of vegetables and fruit trees, hundreds
of cattle; nearly 1 thousand numbers of poultry were swept away due to flood.
Facing with the above situation, the
provincial People's Committee drastically directed the functional branches and
local authorities to actively mobilize forces and means to overcome the
consequences of heavy rains and floods. They already organized for relocation
of households located in the risk of landslides at Group 26, Dong Tien Ward;
relocating the households from dangerous areas and cutting off the Road 445,
the area of May Giay Hamlet, Dan Ha commune; relocating households in Tuan Dao
commune (Lac Son) to safe places, etc. Local authorities are urgently reviewing
dangerous areas; on duty and plugging warning signs, pulling wires of the
dangerous zones, landslide places, flooded areas, banning traffic vehicles and
people to move around; having relocation plans to move the local people out of
the areas in danger of landslides, ensuring safety for people, etc.
