(HBO) - Secretary of the Party Committee of Dich Giao commune, Tan Lac district, Bui Thi Khuyen said the locality has set a target to lift per capita income in the locality to 45 million VND/year.
Locals plant Sachi trees, which helps bring high
income.
To concretise the resolution of the Tan Lac district
Party Committee to convert the ineffective rice land to the cultivation of high
economic value crops, Dich Giao has built an implementation plan, and directed
the communal Party Committee and authorities to encourage locals to plan production
areas to be suitable for each type of crop, and apply new farming techniques to
save costs, thus increasing economic value of cultivation areas.
Implementing the plan, Dich Giao has fulfilled the
production area planning in Khay hamlet, while encouraging locals to convert ineffective rice farming land into areas
for other trees such as Sachi, bitten
melons and wax gourds.
Secretary of the Party Committee of
Dich Giao commune, Tan Lac district, Bui Thi Khuyen said comparing to the 588
ha of cultivation area of rice and other crops in the commune, the conversion
rate still remains limited.
However, with the signing of a contract to
stably buy vegetables and Sachi seeds with INCA Vietnam joint Stock Company,
the communal Party Committee and authorities believe that the planting area of Sachi
trees in the locality will be quickly expanded. With a value of 4 times higher
than rice cultivation, the cultivation of Sachi trees is considered as one of
the main orientations to improve income for local people.
Along with shifting crops, local authorities have also
paid attention to promoting the development of livestock and poultry husbandry
in recent times. At present, the total number of cattle heads of the commune is
over 1,000.
Local households initially have taken the initiative in growing grass to ensure
feed for their livestock.
With the application of many concerted measures devised by the local authorities, the poverty rate of
Dich Giao commune was averagely decreased by 3 percent each year to 8.92
percent in 2018, and the per capita income is constantly being raised./.
