(HBO) - In the face of the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemics, one child positive for Covid-19 was recorded in the province, nearly 1,800 children under F1 and F2 categories had to undergo the concentrated isolation and isolation at home. They were not only at risk of the pandemic transmission, but they also might be at high risk of psychological crisis due to the sudden changes in the living environment, having to be separated from the parents, the family and taking care of themselves in quarantine period.

Hoa Binh city is the locality with the highest number of Covid-19 positive cases and quarantined people in the whole province. During the 4th pandemic outbreak, from May 9th to 27th, the city recorded 6 positive cases of Covid-19, including 1 child. More than 650 children under F1, F2, and F3 categories must be isolated at the concentrated isolation facilities and isolated at home. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu, the Deputy Head of the Division of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Hoa Binh City, said: In order to timely support and encourage the children in material and spiritual ways, the City’s Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs advised the City’s People’s Committee to present gift to 38 children and 2 teachers from Hoa Binh Primary School under F1 category who were isolated at the concentrated isolation area of Song Da Vocational College.

 

Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh Ngoc, the Deputy Director of the Division of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs said: In the province there are over 225,000 children under 16 years old, accounting for 26.44% of the population. The issues related to the children during and after Covid-19 pandemics are always paid attention to by all levels and sectors with many timely, practical and long-term solutions. The child protection and care are a top priority, especially for the children at high risk of being affected by the epidemics. In the plan of the Action Month for Children, the Department actively coordinated with the Center for Social Work and the Provincial General Hospital to visit and present gifts to children in difficult circumstances. At the same time, they directed the localities to organize the International Children's Day (June 1) briefly, ensuring safety in the epidemic situation.

Performing the function of State management of children and coordinating the implementation of children's rights, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has requested the Division of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of the districts and the city to implement a number of contents. They include coordinating with the appropriate authorities and the functional agencies to promptly update the number, make a list, and the needs of the children in sthe ocial-distance areas and concentrated isolation facilities, advising the People's Committees of the districts and the city to direct and arrange how to use the budget of the district’s Children's Protection Fund (if any), or the district's budget and other mobilization sources for nutritional support, essential supplies, medicinesn and complementary medical items for children. They have coordinated with the local appropriate authorities to advise the People's Committees of the districts and the city to promptly implement the measures protecting children in the development of the epidemics, ensuring safety for children along with the implementation of other measures for preventing and controlling the epidemics. Especially, they have paid special attention to preventing and combating the risk of abuse, accidents and injuries to children, preventing trauma and supporting psychological stability for children.
