After the flood, the
school was covered with soil, the teachers of Nhap Ngoai Village, Dong Ruong (Da
Bac) Commune had to teach in the temporary house.
Maybe, there will be some unforgettable memories of teachers and
pupils from kindergarten and primary schools of Nhap Ngoai villiage, Dong Ruong
( Da Bac) commune. Flood and heavy rain suddenly came to many village houses as
well as the village school. "No one could imagine of a catastrophic and
horrible disaster like that. We were born and grew up in this land but this is
the first time we have known what a flood is, what a flash flood or pipe flood
is. It swept away everything, even the children classrooms which were built
solidly” said by Luong Van Hung, the Head of Nhap Ngoai village, Dong Ruong
Commune confided.
Luong Thi Huyen, a teacher at Nhap Ngoai school, added "After
the flood passed by, we could not believe in our eyes when seeing the scene of
devastated school under the soil and rock. A teacher sat down on the ground and
cried. The children felt very sad when looking at that, they thought that no
classrooms meant that they could not go to school, could not study any more.
They cried together.
Mr. Tran Tuan Vang, the principal of Dong Ruong Primary and
Secondary School said: At Nhap Ngoai Village school, there are only 2
classrooms with 12 primary children and 1 kindergarten with 17 children. Due to
the recent flood, the classrooms were covered under the soil and rock; they
were collapsed completely and is no longer used. This has affected to teaching
and learning activities. After the flood, with the support of all levels and
branches, especially from the staff of the provincial Military Command, the
temporary classrooms were built up.
After the flood passed, the provincial Armed Force immediately
investigated and moved more than 20 households living in Nhap village to the
safer shelters. At the same time, they built a canvas for residents to live
temporarily while waiting for the authority’s permission of building a
resettlement area. Dinh Thao Vy, a 5th -grade child at Nhap Village
school shared: I was very upset seeing the school covered with soil. I was
afraid that I could not go to school to see my friends and my teachers. When
the soldiers set up the canvas for us to learn, we felt so happy. We only hope
that our family will have a stable residence, we can have spacious classrooms
and no longer learn in temporary ones.
A teacher, Tran Tuan Vang, said: Despite the difficult
circumstance, we will create all favorable conditions for children in Nhap
Ngoai school to fully attend the class and encourage them to try their best to
study.
The flood has passed, the living condition is still hard and
difficult, but the people have to make great efforts to improve their lives.
However, it is worth noting that the people and children in Nhap Ngoai village
have never given u learning even though their lives are so hard and difficult.
Perhaps they think that their lives get much better thanks to their learning
and their offspring being fully taught. "Our difficult life will be improved
because of our learning”, the Head of Nhap Ngoai village, Luong Van Hung
believed.
